A one-storey building in Okene, identified as the hideouts of kidnappers and armed robbers has been demolished by the Kogi State government. The house was said to be owned by a kidnap kingpin, Tijani Abubakar. The state government also demolished a mosque owned by a suspected terrorist group. The Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) has filed a N2 billion suit against the Attorney–General of the Federation (AGF), Inspector–General of Police (IGP) and the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS) over the unlawful arrest and detention of its National Commandant, Dickson Akoh and 49 others last week.    A team of DSS officials and the police on February 28th, raided the headquarters of the security agent, arrested its authorities and paraded them before newsmen. The police spokeperson, Jimoh Moshood, at the press conference alleged that the group had been infiltrated by some terrorists

40-year-old Awa is an inspirational woman. A Nigerian refugee in Niger- one of the poorest countries in the world, works as a midwife, and tries to ease the suffering of women and girls in Sayam Forage refugee camp in the Diffa region. The man who killed a Scottish toddler at a Turkish cafe in 2003, has died after being shot at his own wedding. Daimi Akyuz, 46 had been sent to jail after he was found guilty of firing the shot that killed Alistair Grimason, while the toddler was sleeping in his pushchair. A fight had broken out at the cafe over a mobile phone and Akyus shot, killing two people. The second person was Ali Bektas, a mobile salesman.

Chocolate City boss, Audu Maikori has been discharged from St. Nicholas hospital 24 hours after he collapsed at the 2017 Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) conference at Muson Center. "He's finished the tests and he's fine, there is no cause for alarm' one of his close aides told LIB. Audu had just finished moderating a Q and A session with Mo Abudu and was taking selfies with fans when he collapsed yesterday. Glad to kknow he's fine and out of the hospital now.

South African rapper, Okmalumkoolkat took to his twitter page to apologize for sexually assaulting a female musician during his Australian tour in January 2016.

Oliver Funez, 18, was arrested on Monday after he cut off his mother's head then proceeded to call the police on himself. Oliver committed the crime at their home just east of Zebulon, North Carolina, US. He made the call to the police at about 1 p.m. on Monday and the police arrived some minutes later to find him walking out of the house, carrying a butcher's knife in one hand and his mother's head in the other.
